Stay in the Namib-Naukluft National Park in chalet or campsite accommodation at Naukluft Campsite. This is an unforgettable experience. The Naukluft mountains surround the chalets and rock pools during the rainy season.

The Namib-Naukluft National Park features open stretches of land and petrified dunes. The park was initially founded to conserve Hartmann’s mountain zebra population. Therefore, guests can spot these animals while hiking and enjoy their quirky personalities.

There is a small kiosk and office on site. Guests who prefer camping can rest assured that the bathrooms will be cleaned regularly.

All guests can enjoy the restaurant and bar area and the natural rock pools.

Namib-Naukluft National Park

The impressive cliffs in the area are home to many birds – and black eagles are among them!

The wild animals spotted here include the cute klipspringer, rock hyrax (dassie), springbok and steenbok, the mighty oryx and kudu, and mischievous chacma baboon (also called the Cape baboon).

The rock formations make Namib-Naukluft National Park unique. It’s also the only place where a stand-alone dolomite formation can be found, called Gritty Dolomite.

The park has a wide variety of vegetation, including some peculiar and beautiful species.

Hiking Trails

The camp offers the perfect base for hikers who want to explore this unique region. It’s peaceful and easy-going because guests can choose their campsite and interact with the friendly staff. Then you can select your ideal hiking trail.

The Olive Trail is only 4 km long and great to get the blood flowing after a long ride and before a much-deserved rest. The Waterkloof Trail winds along the river for 17 km, where you can enjoy spotting the local animals. In season there are rock pools to take a dip. It’s a challenging trail and reaches 1,9 km at its highest peak.

There is a four and eight-day trial for the genuine adventure seekers, or just genuinely fit. You can arrange for a guide in advance, which will make the experience a lot easier and safer as they know the area and can also point out magical sights you wouldn’t have seen without their expertise.
