Stay at a Private Nature Reserve
Onguma Nature Reserve protects more than 34,000 hectares of land and wildlife. Here you can experience Africa in all its beauty and diversity. The reserve has a popular waterhole, while Bush Camp offers a striking view of it from the deck. The lodges are designed to make the most of their surroundings and provide a wonderful place to appreciate nature.
Wildlife at Onguma
More than thirty animal species occur on the reserve. Plains game visiting the waterhole include kudu, giraffe, eland, oryx, hartebeest, zebra and impala. Lions, cheetahs and leopards are also regular residents, and black rhinos add to Onguma’s abundant wildlife.
More than 300 bird species have been recorded here. During the Namibian summer, seasonal rains and ephemeral river systems create wetlands that make the reserve especially rewarding for birdwatchers.
